Getting Started

Is this a good gun class for beginners?

If you want to protect yourself, your family and your freedom, yes. Most students start with no experience, and experienced students still find gaps worth closing. We start with the fundamentals and move at your pace. → See the Training Agenda

Do I need my own gun to take the class?

No. PROTECT What Matters is a live virtual class, so you can start without buying anything. When you’re ready for the range, an AEDA-provided 9mm is available.

What happens after I register?

You’ll get a confirmation right away. Your Google Meet link arrives by email before class. On Wednesday, join at 6:00 PM Central, and we finish at 8:00. → See the evening’s timeline

Is the class really live?

Yes, every virtual class is taught live, with real-time questions. There are no recordings.

What does it cost?

PROTECT What Matters is $75 per seat. → Reserve your seat

Peace of Mind

What if I miss part of the class?

No problem. Join us live on another Wednesday, at no additional charge. Just contact us and we’ll send you a courtesy link.

What if I need to change my date?

You can move your registration to any other Wednesday this class is offered.

What if it isn’t what I expected?

If you attend and feel it wasn’t worth your evening, tell me within 7 days and I’ll refund your registration.

Who will be teaching me?

Al “Coach A7T” Tucker, USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor and Range Safety Officer. → Meet Coach A7T

Will I learn the law around self-defense?

Yes. The Freedom portion of the class covers the legal side of protecting yourself. It’s education, not legal advice. For your specific situation, consult an attorney.

After PROTECT What Matters

Will one class make me ready?

Honestly, no. One class gives you a strong foundation. Real readiness is built in stages, from the classroom to coached live fire and beyond. → See the full path: BULLSEYE

Where does range training happen?

Group sessions are on Sundays at Double Tap Training Grounds in Calera. One-on-one sessions are in Hoover on Tuesdays and Fridays. PROTECT What Matters is the starting point for all range training.

What should I wear to the range?

Closed-toe shoes, a crew-neck shirt (hot brass and low necklines don’t mix), and a cap with a brim. Eye and ear protection are provided. → See What To Wear

Not Ready Yet?

I’m interested, but now isn’t the right time. What should I do?

Start learning for free. → Explore DISCOVER for articles on awareness, judgment, and readiness. When you’re ready, the Wednesday class will be here.
